No More Hunchbacks

The number of people that are developing poor posture is growing exponentially. Why is this happening? Why are so many people walking around like Quasimodo with one hand on their lower back because they are crippled with pain? The human race has come a long way in the last 100 years. Two aspects of life that have changed dramatically are also contributing in a big way to our every growing society of hunchbacks – too much sitting, and the popularity/reliance on technology.

As I SIT here at my COMPUTER I can’t help but notice the position of my body. My glutes are completely shut off, my shoulders are rounded, and my upper back is very C-shaped. Long-term usage of my body like this is going to lead to trouble – most likely in my shoulders and/or lower back. How do you combat this problem? Get up and move! Set aside 30 minutes per day and take care of you. Leave the cell phone down, turn off the iPad, stop sending emails, and focus on you and making your body healthier. A healthier body equals a healthier mind, which leads to increased productivity in the workplace. It is a vicious cycle – but vicious in a very positive way.
